Peacemaker Second Season Finale to Address Significant Viewer Grievance, James Gunn Reveals
Although the reception for Peacemaker the latest season has been largely favorable, with viewers and reviewers applauding the performances and storyline—despite the fact that the big twist in the seventh installment didn't come as a surprise—one critique has only grown stronger as the season continues: decreasing episode runtimes.
Over the past few episodes, viewers have expressed disappointment over the significantly reduced episode lengths in season 2, and it's true, the installments have been getting shorter and shorter. Episode 7, called “Like a Keith in the Night,” ran just 28 minutes (not counting the summary, opening credits, and end credits), marking the briefest installment yet.

Series creator and DCU boss Gunn wrote via social media, replying to a viewer's concern.
Despite this news, it's unknown what portion of the runtime will be actual new footage, uncluttered by opening and ending sequences, or recaps of previous events. However, even if the finale contains all the aforementioned filler, that still leaves roughly three-quarters of an hour for the concluding episode, which is a significant improvement after episode 7.
Gunn previously hinted that the last episode would not only conclude Peacemaker but also provide clues towards the direction the greater DCU at large will be heading and serve as a kind of precursor for the next Superman movie. Considering the brief appearance of Nicholas Hoult's Lex Luthor from episode 6, many are anticipating a juicy cameo to cap off the show.
Peacemaker's finale, episode 8, is titled "The Full Nelson," and audiences must wait to find out if fans' suspicions are proven correct.
